Your Opportunity

The newly created Kinship Engagement Worker position sits within the kinship care team in the Shepparton region.

Our kinship care teams are passionate about what they do, they are proud to be in the team knowing they are working towards providing young people and families with a better future.

The role will have a focus on engaging with formal and informal kinship carers in the community to better respond to their needs and address vulnerabilities.

Your skills and experience

The primary objectives of the Kinship Engagement Worker and skills required will be to organise, coordinate, and facilitate forums, regular kinship carer support groups, carer events & activities and community and professional education sessions to better meet the needs of kinship carers, children in their care and their extended support networks.

The role will also include the provision of information and advice specific to the needs of kinship carers either via brief face to face intervention or phone support, including referral to support services as required

A Diploma qualification in Social Work, Youth Work or other related discipline is a requirement for this position.
