The Sydney Boulevard Hotel located near the Sydney’s CBD. It boasts 275 contemporary guest rooms, 1 food and beverage outlets and 11 function rooms.
We are currently seeking a full time Kitchen Hand to join our growing team and support the daily operations of the kitchen across the hotel. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment and kitchen areas meet the required hygiene standards. You will work primarily alone, so it’s important to understand and apply company policy, be able to work unsupervised and to follow health and safety procedures.
The role will also include cleaning our large equipment within our kitchens including, ovens, grills, stove tops, deep fryers, range hoods, ceilings, and walls.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas relating to stewarding.
- To be fully conversant with all standards and procedures as well as all cleaning chemicals used within the stewarding department.
- Ensure all hotel equipment is correctly used and maintained.
- To control stock levels through constant monitoring and effective requisitioning.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher
- Knowledge of food hygiene and maintaining necessary WH&S compliance
- Flexibility and the ability to work on a rotating roster
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within a 4-5 Star Hospitality environment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
