Job Description
The main focus of this role is to provide Fuel Product Quality and technical support to Geelong refinery laboratory, Supply and Distribution, Manufacturing, International (Aviation and Marine), and Bulk Fuels (Retail, Commercial Fuels and LPG) businesses. This includes delivery of 2nd and 3rd level Customer Technical Support.
You will be responsible to ensure all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed Health, Safety and Environment practices and procedures as outlined in the Geelong Refinery Management and Supply Chain Management
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all test data, calculations and results.
- Maintain laboratory procedures and test methods
- Maintain and report on laboratory quality assurance activities
- Undertake sampling of routine and non-routine production and environmental streams and finished product tanks as required.
- Prepare calibration standards as required
- Assist with QA monitoring of laboratory activities including proficiency testing, correlation testing etc.
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Maintain Refinery PQ Risk Register
- Manage refinery PQRI (Product Quality Refinery Incidents)
- Act as a SME for refinery process changes, test runs and MOCs
- Act as the first point contact in-between Supply and refining business
- Provide non-routine investigations-testing
- Act as a Focal point for all alternative fuels initiatives.
- University degree in engineering or science or equivalent professional experience in fuels quality management.
- Strong technical background in an area relevant to this role, with a track record of leading experienced specialized personnel.
- Extensive experience in oil industry in technical and management roles, with a focus on Assurance or PQ activities.
- Good knowledge of test methods and laboratory procedures.
- Sound analytical skills including problem solving and decision making.
- Strong communication skills
- Relevant computer skills
