An opportunity currently exists for a Laboratory/QA Technician based at our Cowra site on a permanent full-time basis. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct routine activities of the laboratory as required and assist in maintaining the Quality and Food Safety Management system at the site.
Key accountabilities include:
- Finished product testing of Bakery ingredients, test baking and positive release of the finished product.
- Perform raw material inspection on bulk deliveries and ensure CofAs are received where appropriate.
- Verify production, quality and cleaning records and ensure compliance.
- Take micro samples and dispatch them for external laboratory testing as specified by the customer.
- Collect finished product retention samples and maintain in the retention room.
- Collect finished product samples and conduct shelf-life studies.
- Assist in investigating non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Collect and dispatch environmental swabs, line cleaning swabs, allergen swabs etc for external laboratory testing.
- Conduct GMP audits and glass and hard plastic audits and raise non-conformance report.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Food Science qualifications are desirable.
- Experienced QA Assistant/QA Officer/Laboratory Technician with some basic Food Science / Quality Control/HACCP background will be advantageous.
- Basic exposure and understanding of laboratory-based testing methods and procedures.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be methodical, proactive, accurate with attention to detail, able to work unsupervised, have good decision-making skills and be able to prioritise tasks.
- A working proficiency with systems including Microsoft Office software.
