About the role
Seasonal employment opportunities have become available for the 2024 cane crushing season at Mackay Sugar. The season is expected to run from mid-late May and will end approximately December 2024. Mackay Sugar is particularly eager to receive applications from people who have a passion for the Sugar Industry and have a strong desire to see the local industry thrive.
Laboratory Vacant Positions
- Juice Analyst
- Control Analyst
- Day Analyst
Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of laboratory equipment and machinery to provide laboratory services to the factory team, whilst maintaining quality at a higher than minimum standard. You will be a key member of the production team, self-motivated and committed to achieving targets in relation to safety, quality, and productivity.
As a minimum you will:
- Hold a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills, preferred but not essential
- Have previous Laboratory experience (advantageous)
- Be able to work safely and efficiently within a team environment
- Have the ability and willingness to work shift work; and
- Be available for the duration of the crushing season
All training will be provided over a 2-week period, prior to crush commencing in May 2024**
