Our client, a solid, dynamic gold producer, building their footprint to an exciting future, is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and forward-thinking Laboratory Supervisor to join the team. The role is site-based on an 8/6 roster in the goldfields.
Reporting to the Process Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the short- and medium-term performance of the laboratory facilities, achieving required output volumes and ensuring the area operates in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and support of the laboratory work teams to ensure that production goals are met.
- Ensuring production costs and consumption KPI’s are met.
- Conducting and completing workplace inspections on time as required ensuring that all follow up work actions are completed promptly.
- Assumes a leadership role for safety through meetings, incident investigations and proactively promotes a positive and safe work ethic.
- Commitment to work as a supervisor of a small dynamic team to achieve established goals.
- Coaching and supervising of laboratory room team members to maximise individual and team contributions to the work group.
- Completion of log sheets, check sheets and reports on time.
- Demonstrates a high level of troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
- Guide and operate Laboratory instrumentation and equipment including AAS, UV-vis, acid digestion technique, wet chemistry preparation, PAL machine, crusher, splitter, milling, filter press and other laboratory work.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to engage and empower teams.
- Existing skills and experience in operating PAL machine, AAS instruments and other laboratory instruments & equipment.
- Experience in gold mining.
- Ability to maintain a high quality of work while meeting daily production targets.
- Strong organisational skills, happy to be hands on when needed.
- Knowledge of relevant standards relating to laboratory and HSE policies and procedures
- High attention to detail
- Ability to plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Intermediate computing skills
- Current C Class WA licence
- Valid work visa, permanent residency, or Australian citizenship
