About Us

Join the Cellular Biology Team as a Laboratory Technician in Forensic Science! This dynamic role involves overseeing and managing teaching laboratories, as well as taking the lead in preparing, developing, designing and constructing experiments. The Role

As the Laboratory Technician in Forensic Science, you play a key role in coordinating designated laboratory sessions within the Biological Sciences, with a focus on Forensic Science, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Microbiology as part of the cellular Biology Team. In this role you will be in charge of organising and facilitating these essential laboratory activities, contributing to the dynamic field of biological science.

Your key duties:

  • Organise, prepare and present all reagents, media equipment and materials required for nominated laboratory sessions.
  • Apply chemical analysis techniques to assigned forensic units.
  • Maintain details and current records of each laboratory session under your responsibility.


What you'll bring to this role

  • Completion of a tertiary degree in Forensic Science, Molecular Biology or related field with at least 4 years of subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, including biohazard and chemical handling.
  • Experience in preparing student laboratories and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of wide range of relevant laboratory equipment.
  • Organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
