About the Role:
We are seeking a Land Acquisition Manager who will play an integral part of the development function at RES. You will be leading multiple project land negotiations from inception to completion with legal support and providing property advice to the company's Development Project Managers and Heads of Development.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Lead the negotiation and security of appropriate property rights for the Company's renewable energy developments.
The key focus will be mainly on wind projects, with crossover to solar on energy storage developments as required.
Develop and maintain positive, long term landowner relationships across the project portfolio. Find/agree practical solutions to resolve landowner concerns and build comfort.
Liaising with and providing instructions to internal and external solicitors and agents.
Supporting the due diligence and financial close process for all aspects of property
Supporting new sites selection work from a property perspective, rights and licences
Liaising with landowners and external legal advisors in a professional manner in line with the RES core values.
Maintaining the company land templates and supporting the development of new documents as required.
Managing the internal approval and document control process for property agreement
Skills & Experience:
A high level of working knowledge of relevant property law and documentation.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience with GIS software is desirable
Experience of budgetary and risk management
Flexibility to travel throughout Australia & current driving license
A degree or relevant qualification in legal, property, land or estates management
Quickly building rapport with rural landowners, on the phone and in person
Excellent communication and commercial negotiation skills
