LGI is a specialist business in landfill gas management and renewable energy generation. Our core business is to extract the biogas that’s produced in landfills, and treat it in flaring units (to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions) or gas engines (to produce renewable electricity).
We manufacture much of the equipment we use to treat the biogas, including flaring units. We own and operate construction equipment to drill wells and install pipework in landfills. We build, own and operate renewable energy facilities on landfills. We currently operate, maintain, monitor, repair, and expand landfill gas systems across 27 landfill sites in QLD, NSW and the ACT. Our team of 45+ includes skilled trades, specialist engineers, machine operators, early career technicians, and more.
Established in 2009, LGI is a 100% Australian based and operated leader in carbon abatement that’s committed to a clean energy and zero-carbon future.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for people who work well as part of a team, want to learn and grow professionally, and like a challenge. We need people to help install and repair landfill gas extraction systems. We want people who work safely - most of our work happens in and around landfills, and safety is the priority.
These are hands-on roles across our landfill gas projects, helping with all aspects of the work, including operating our installation equipment (trucks, excavator, skid steer loader, drill rig). There is regular travel through NSW, and the ACT.
You might help build new power generation and flaring projects, and upgrade existing projects. We have a lot of projects and we operate in a complex space, so plans and priorities can change quickly - our people have to be flexible and adaptable.
We’re a growing business with exciting opportunities.

- Butt welding or electro-fusion welding tickets would be an advantage
- Experience working in a landfill environment would be an advantage
