De Vries Designs is a bespoke landscape design and construction company, they specialize in high-end residential landscaping. They pride themselves on exceptional presentation, attention to detail and ability to integrate nature and architecture to create contemporary outdoor spaces. From plants to stonework, furniture to pool design, they carefully consider every aspect of outdoor living requirements in our landscaping projects.
De Vries Designs has a unique opportunity to join their small team of high motivated landscapers, based in Perth’s inner suburbs. This is an opportunity for a Landscape Construction Apprentice to gain the skills to be involved in some of Perth’s best residential landscapes, whilst being mentored by a dynamic team of experienced contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
As a Landscape Construction Apprentice, you will support the team onsite to construct all aspects of a landscaping project. This includes:
- Design: Interpret detailed construction drawings and plans (planting, lighting ect), with guidance. Including comprehension of denoted material selections and plants.
- Construction: Site preparation, installing of softscapes (irrigation, planting) and hardscapes (decking, fencing and paving).
- Maintenance: Weeding, fertilising, pruning and general maintenance of gardens, structures and irrigation systems.
- Pools: Assist with site works, set out and other duties that may arise.
- Learning: Adapting your class-based knowledge into practical skills.
- Presentation: Maintaining a clean and tidy worksite and pristine outdoor environment for our clients.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
There is no experience required to apply for this apprenticeship. Though, the business requires applicants to show an eagerness to learn the trade and conduct the role with a high level of professionalism.
Applicants who demonstrate the following attributes will be highly considered:
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Eager to learn and undertake a Landscape Construction Apprenticeship, including TAFE based learning components.
- Reliable, with a positive and honest work ethic.
- Ability to carry out a range of tasks and have good organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA (Driver’s license/Pre-apprenticeship etc.)
- C class driver’s license.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.
