Laundry Worker - Checkin/Washroom

We are a high-volume commercial production facility, located at Warragul Vic, less than 1hr from Melbourne. We employ approximately 50 staff and provide garment and linen hire and laundering services to major manufacturing & accommodation facilities across Melbourne, Geelong & the Gippsland region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands on and confident candidate to take that next step into a Washroom/Checkin position. You will work in our state of the art, Industrial laundry reporting to the Factory Supervisor, you will be enthusiastic, motivated and able to work unsupervised at times.

You will liaise with other staff members who form a high performing Team to ensure all returned linen and garments are received and washed to plan using some of the most high-tech, modern equipment the laundry industry has to offer.

Duties

The role of Washroom/Checkin is responsible for the day to day processing of soiled garments and linen including:

• The ability to do physical/manual labour in a relatively face paced and repetitive environment.
• Contributing to the efficient flow of production
• Able to achieve daily targets
• Sorting/Checking/Processing of Laundry textiles.
• Previous experience in laundry services desirable but not essential, as all training provided.
• Able to work effectively, at times, with minimal supervision and as a team player.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have competent computer skills, as equipment is run on high-tech touch panel interfaces.
• Excellent decision making abilities.
• Be flexible with rosters, for early starts or afternoon shift depending on volume increases.
• Be physically fit & able to stand for long periods of time.
• Possess a strong work ethic, be reliable & efficient.
• Other factory work as required
