The Corporate M&A and Capital Markets team

The Corporate M&A and Capital Markets team acts for many of Australia's top listed and unlisted companies, major multinationals and investment banks. They advise on various Australian and cross border corporate transactions involving equity raising, takeovers, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, ASX listing rules and corporate governance advice. 

Their expertise spans across multiple industry sectors including Energy & Resources, Government, Financial & Insurance Services, Telecommunications, Media & Technology, Health, Transport & Logistics.

The role

A position has now opened up for a Lawyer/Senior Associate to join the team in their Sydney office. This role will see you working alongside two highly regarded Partners on a range of matters including public and private M&A, private equity, corporate advisory, cross-border investment and funds M&A. 

Most of the work will be in the tech, software, health & life sciences, financial services and retail sectors.  

You will have significant exposure to clients, leading on key aspects of transactions including negotiations, drafting and team supervision.
 
Requirements

To be successful you will have 4-8 years' post qualification experience within a corporate practice, with experience in equity Capital Markets being advantageous. 

In addition, you will have the following:

• The ability to take a lead on transactions and mentor junior lawyers 
• Highly developed technical and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong focus on client service to communicate effectively within a team and with clients 
• Exceptional work ethic
