Working with Microboards Australia also means you will be working at the forefront of contemporary practice and training opportunities. We are the content developers of two Post Graduate Certificates at Curtin University in the areas of PBS and AAC/Communication support Needs.
We also support the disability sector through the development of resources, programs and models with a current project around building sexuality literacy for people with complex communication needs.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Lead Behaviour Support Practitioner with exceptional skills in working with families, organisations and individuals in the design and delivery of best practice person centred Behaviour Support approaches. A lead practitioner would work closely with our management team to support our team of behaviour practitioners to work in best practice ways. This is a supervisory role with the person needing to have contemporary skills in Behaviour Support and considered skills in working alongside families, people and support networks in respectful and true partnership, person led and neurodiversity affirming ways.
Because of the way we work, the role may also provide opportunities to lead and support systemic and organisational operational and cultural development. True systemic change.
We are looking for people who:
- Are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission as an advanced or recognised high level skills in Behaviour Support.
- Have registration with their professional body where appropriate
- Have skills in partnering alongside service providers, families and broader systems using frameworks of systemic change.
- A passion for learning and engaging in continuous professional development
- Have a keen interest and knowledge of supporting people with complex communication needs and sensory regulation needs.
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Assessment.
It would also be great if you have experience or skills in:
- Supported decision making and supporting people with complex communication needs.
- Knowledge of Behaviour Support from a psychosocial and neuroscience lens.
- Supervising and mentoring other behaviour practitioners across the disability sector
- Delivery of training
