Job Description:
As a Front of House / Lead Deckhand, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences aboard our vessels. This multifaceted position combines Front of House responsibilities with deckhand duties, offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to be part of a great team.
Responsibilities:
Front of House Activities:
  • Prepare the vessel for cruising, including cleaning and table setting
  • Greet customers warmly and direct them to their tables
  • Serve meals and beverages, ensuring impeccable presentation and service
  • Clear tables efficiently to maintain a pleasant dining environment
  • Complete end-of-cruise tasks such as cleaning and waste removal
Deckhand Activities
  • Assist the Master in casting off and tying up processes at the slipway and jetty
  • Direct and supervise junior deckhands to ensure timely task completion
  • Participate in emergency drills and adhere to emergency procedures (comprehensive training provided)
  • Aid in vessel maintenance under the guidance of the Master.
Requirements:
Essential:
  • Friendly demeanor with a passion for customer service.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to own vehicle (limited public transport availability).
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in customer service roles
  • Residency in the local area
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
  • First Aid Certificate.
