Job Description:

Join our dedicated team in providing comprehensive support to all participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This Casual/Full Time role not only offers the chance to enhance the daily life of our clients but also presents significant growth opportunities within our organisation. You will primarily be providing support for our short term accommodation clients and support in our long term accommodation homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily one-on-one support, ensuring the client's comfort and safety.
  • Engage the client in activities that promote cognitive stimulation and enjoyment, such as music and writing.
  • Facilitate community participation and social activities in line with the client's NDIS plan.
  • Be able to commute with the client.
  • Design and implement personalised engagement plans based on individual participant goals and needs.
  • Always comply under the NDIS Code of Conduct and NDIS guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Lead training sessions for AHC staff on NDIS compliance, safety protocols, and participant engagement strategies.
  • Develop and oversee a mentorship program to help junior staff enhance their skills.
  • Manage logistical aspects of service delivery including scheduling, resource allocation, and transportation.
  • Serve as a primary contact for participants, families, and carers, providing updates and gathering feedback to improve services.
  • Generate detailed reports for management and compliance purposes.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies to address immediate issues such as participant health emergencies or behavioural crises.

Schedule:

  • Casual, Part time and Full time positions: Varied hours based on client needs (may include overnights and active night support)
  • Lead role is Full Time 

Location:

  • Wollongong and Illawarra region

Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience in a lead support role.
  • A respectful and caring approach to providing support and companionship.
  • Completion of or willingness to undertake required NDIS compliance training and checks.
  • A desire to build a career in the Disability Support sector and take on leadership roles.
  • Must have your own vehicle and drivers licence.
  • We will accept ABN registered workers also.
  • You must be flexible with your hours in case of afterhours emergencies or demand.

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
  • National Police Certificate 
  • COVID-19 Infection Control Certificate
  • Driver Licence
  • Car Registration and Car Insurance 
  • 100 points of ID

  • VIVO Check
