Job description

We are currently seeking a Full Time Facilitator to join in our Training Team based in Perth for SAI Global. The Lead Facilitator’s primary purpose is the delivery of public and in-house training courses within their particular field, Quality & Auditing, Occupational Health And Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety.

This role interacts closely with all functional areas of the business and is expected to be able to develop close and positive working relationships, including operations, business development, product development, and marketing.

Your responsibilities:

  • Effective delivery of training programs (at public venues, client premises and virtually via appropriate online delivery platforms).
  • Delivery of Professional Training
  • Assessment of participants against the Australian Qulifications Framework (AQF) and Exemplar Global (EG) competencies (where applicable)
  • Provide support (but not direction) to candidates who are undergoing assessment
  • Provide appropriate and timely feedback to participants on assessment results
  • SME (Subject Matter Expert) input into existing program enhancement and development 

The role requires demonstrated experience within an adult learning environment and expertise and qualifications in training, assessment and facilitation.

Effective delivery & facilitation of training courses (as required)

  • Facilitate theoretical instruction and practical training as directed by Intertek SAI Global Assurance Learning Product Management team
  • Deliver all training as per the Intertek SAI facilitator guides & subsequent material updates
  • Utilise relevant resources to maintain currency of theoretical and practical knowledge of courses delivered
  • Provide positive and objective feedback to all participants to ensure maximum absorption of learning  
  • Cultivate leads for the in-house and business improvement during course delivery

Learner management (including pre and post-course assessments)

  • Provide timely feedback to participants as required and follow up all participant issues (onsite or post course) and queries in a timely manner
  • Assess participants as indicated in all Intertek SAI facilitator guides (and subsequent upgrades)
  • Conduct competency based assessments that meet all Intertek SAI, RTO (registered training organisation) and regulatory requirements (e.g. AQF and EG)

Continuous improvement & ongoing professional development

  • Maintain skills and knowledge in accordance with AQF requirements and obligations as an RTO provider
  • Participation in industry seminars, conferences, and workshops to maintain currency of  theoretical & practical knowledge
  • Ensure currency in knowledge of adult learning and contemporary learning methodology is maintained 
  • Contribute positively and constructively to general business improvement including improvements to delivery method, work processes, systems & procedures relating to customer service and cost efficient training
  • Assist in driving a consistent and higher standard of delivery across the relevant product portfolio, by acting in a “mentoring” capacity to contract facilitators

Provision of Subject Matter Expertise in a particular field / domain

  • Participate in any cross division reviews of product portfolios in the relevant area of expertise
  • Ensure that preparation for changes to existing materials and the implementation of new courses is undertaken in a timely & professional manner
  • Provide SME input into the development of new and/or existing training and improvement programs where required
  • Utilise and share knowledge with the greater Assurance Learning team to maintain & develop currency of courses delivered e.g. validation & moderation sessions
  • Participate and / or deliver “train the trainer” sessions as required for course updates and/or new courses
  • Identify and recommend in a positive and constructive manner ongoing improvements to course content 
  • Provide technical and industry expertise in the construction of portfolio strategies and marketing plans, review marketing collateral where necessary, and respond to opportunities to provide input into relevant published works, such as articles, case studies, editorials etc.  
  • Ensure that all course administration, assessment marking and other compliance related duties are completed in timely manner

Minimum Education/Professional Qualifications & Experience Required:

Essential

  • Substantial (> 5 years) & current (< 3 years) professional experience in the specific area / domain of delivery
  • Significant adult education experience in a professional services capacity 
  • Tertiary qualifications in the area of specialisation 
  • Certificate IV TAE or higher
  • Vocational qualifications equivalent to the level being delivered 
  • Current EG and/or AQF competencies (< 3yrs since completion) in the specific area / domain of delivery

Desirable

  • Post Graduate tertiary qualifications in the area of specialisation 
  • Knowledge of the AQF and the Australian VET sector 
  • Diploma or Tertiary qualifications in Adult Education 
  • Member of appropriate professional bodies and/or associations e.g. AOQ, ASQ, IIA or AICD

Personal Skills

  • Current computer literacy and proficiency in MS suite of products
  • Strong interpersonal skills & enthusiasm for adult learning methodology
  • Demonstrated experience in effective time management skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (adult learning) and maintaining currency of skills & knowledge (technically specific competencies)
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • High level of skill in conflict resolution 
  • Team player with a constructive approach to all team activities, tasks and feedback
