Summary:
Our client Timber Truss Solutions, design and manufacture engineered structural timber framing solutions embracing latest design software and production automation technology to the ensure quality and efficiency. Components are designed and manufactured per approved Australian building codes enabling quicker site install leading to safer and cleaner job sites.
With the high demand for housing and public buildings in Victoria, Timber Truss Solutions are seeking to add a Lead Manufacturing Carpenter to their team of highly qualified tradesmen. A leading supplier of prefabricated construction services they utilise advanced manufacturing capabilities, employ a highly-skilled workforce and provide value added solutions to the construction industry. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Review plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors and roof trusses.
• Select correct timber grade and size and ensure timber quality is fit for construction.
• Accurately cut frame and truss components including, chords, webs, studs, trimmers and noggings using manual and computerised saws.
• Erect and install building framework with the aid from other workers and machinery. Undertake repairs to existing timber frames on site.
• Ensure work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled in accordance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and job specification.
• Program computerised saws to cut timber components ready for assembly.
• Follow OHS procedures in safely and competently operating nail guns, power saws.
• Maintain a strong focus on OH&S, including ongoing staff training.
• Operate forklift and HR Crane Truck as required.
• Maintaining an open relationship with all staff and owner to enhance communication and increase efficiency.
• Ensure that materials, equipment, tools, jigs, fixtures, are in good condition and ready for production.
• Effective planning, allocating resources staff to execute the manufacturing plans so that daily production targets and quality outcomes are achieved.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Certificate III in Carpentry CPC30220
• Certificate IV in Buildings & Construction CPC40120
• Minimum 3 years experience in a Timber Frame and Truss manufacturing business.
• Experience in constructing building frameworks (Walls, Floors,Roof Trusses).
• Experience in leading and supervising a diverse team to achieve production outputs.
• Experience in programming and operating computerised saws and provide training
• Experience in operating HR crane trucks.
