Lead Project Planner

Capstone is partnered with a specialist engineering firm with a national presence across Australia. Their long-term, experienced staff and extensive corporate knowledge base make them the company of choice for mining, bulk ports, and material handling projects throughout the country. They excel in solving complex problems, design verification, and value engineering to optimize scope and layout. Most of their work is repeat business, reflecting strong relationships with existing clients.

Due to the organic growth of their business, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Project Planner to join their professional team. This strategic role is pivotal in shaping the success of their major projects through two primary functions: external consulting and internal project coordination.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Leaders, and Project Managers to plan, schedule, and program major projects. Your duties included,

• Develop and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules and resource plans, ensuring compliance with company and client requirements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project leaders, engineers, support staff, clients, and business partners.
• Oversee day-to-day planning and scheduling of the project portfolio, providing clear communication of schedule deviations and impacts to ensure timely mitigation of potential delays.

You must have multidisciplinary project execution planning experience in the resource sectors, your proficiency in Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, and the full suite of MS Office applications and data management tools will see you excel in this role. A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field is advantageous.
