The Opportunity

This role will primarily have responsibility for the ongoing quality and food safety of products as well as leading and coaching direct reports, creating a food safety and quality culture that delivers great results.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Build and promote a team environment with a focus on working collaboratively
• Lead and coach direct reports, creating a food safety and quality culture that delivers consistent results
• Complete administrative tasks associated with managing people including management of leave, time and attendance and injury management
• Maintain accurate and up to date finished product specifications 
• Investigate and respond to customer and consumer complaints using root cause analysis
• Management of suppliers of raw materials and packaging
• Identify, isolate and investigate stock non-conformances ensuring timely resolution 
• Participate in both the internal and external audit programs
• Educate and collaborate with employees to maintain compliance with the food safety and quality systems at all times.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the quality systems 
• Undertake continuous improvement activities.

Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years practical experience in the food manufacturing industry in a similar role.
• Experience in leading a team within a food manufacturing environment
• HACCP qualifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Sound decision making ability and problem-solving skills.
• Sound computer literacy using Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated organisational skills and a methodical approach to work
• Working knowledge and experience in SQF, Woolworths and Coles standards
• Strong attention to detail
