Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ensuring data availability in the EDW to back business objectives.
- Support BAU enquiries on data and reports out of the data warehouse.
- Upholding data security and IT standards for the EDW.
- Managing EDW user support mechanisms including issues handling and monitoring - providing adept support in resolving service disruptions.
- Managing eternal developers and database administrators .
- Encouraging skill development, especially in platforms like Azure.
- Execution of other initiatives - support to business areas, support for regulatory
Other Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with IT to transition from on-premises data warehousing to Azure cloud architecture, emphasizing a modern, streamlined approach.
- Lead the rejuvenation of data processes, aiming to minimize reliance on stored procedures and focus on efficient, scalable architectures.
- Offer expert guidance on coding practices, ensuring quality through code reviews.
- Guide both internal and external developers on the best practices and execution strategies for the rejuvenation of data processes.
- Represent the data team in Clearview forums, advocating for data-driven decision-making.
- Lead the data team's invovement in the systems migration initiative.
Key Skills/About you:
- Programming Expertise: In addition to SQL, proficiency in at least one other major programming language.
- Code Management: Demonstrated experience with version control and codebase management tools.
- Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and convey complex information clearly.
- Stakeholder Management: Adept at collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
- Cloud Architecture: Some hands-on experience or theoretical knowledge in cloud solutions and migration strategies is advantageous.
- Database Expertise: Solid experience in database design, development, and management. Previous experience in a data or related team. Knowledge of data privacy and security practices
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of Financial Services would be advantageous, though it's not mandatory.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead self and others and the ability to respectfully challenge and provide feedback
