We currently have permanent full time opportunity for a Lead Track & Civil Engineer to join our Regional Engineering Services team. This role is based in Townsville, but other regional centres will be considered. This role will lead a specialist track and civil team in supporting the Regional business by providing effective processes, investigative resources and innovation for the management and reliability of rail infrastructure assets.

- Lead and coach individuals and teams in delivering improved reliability and outcomes through business improvements, technology development and innovation
- Ensure technical services team demonstrates professional integrity and good business approach to track and Civil Engineering products delivered to meet operational requirements and management of the asset
- Provide guidance, as a professional engineer, for track and Civil Engineering works and monitor and manage compliance of the team with the requirements of compliance with quality systems, internal and external standards, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and practices
- Assess and support research and development projects that promise significant improvements to the management of the track and civil infrastructure asset
We are seeking interest from people who have:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Extensive knowledge of railway civil infrastructure engineering, design, materials, standards, specifications and construction and maintenance methodologies (minimum of 10 years' experience in this field)
- High level of skill in leading failure investigations
- Extensive level of skill in asset management planning, strategy development and implementation within an operational environment
- Substantial level of skill in interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills that create an environment that motivates employee performance
