Job description

You will provide purposeful leadership and direction to create a high performing team environment, providing oversight and management of operational/strategic activities in line with divisional objectives within the NSW Workers Compensation team.

The role involves providing outstanding leadership through role modelling, consistent coaching at all levels to strengthen skills and productivity; and drive activities that build team engagement and employee satisfaction.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity. 

What you’ll do

  • Create a plan to drive performance of the team and/or create claims segment plan that delivers team results against the divisional strategy
  • Motivate, develop, empower and engage team members to drive results and create a high performing team
  • Manage day to day workflow; resources, productivity and efficiency, ensuring performance objectives are met
  • Monitor team and departmental results, promoting individual ownership of performance and development
  • Collaborate and engage with Technical Advisor and Injury Management Advisor to identify and implement technical development opportunities for team members
  • Regularly review and monitor team and individual performance
  • Communicate Suncorp Personal Injury Claims strategy in a way that ensures each team member understands individual purpose
  • Analysing data and reports to identify trends to drive an improvement in performance and productivity
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external, to support key outcomes

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive Personal Injury Claims experience, preferably in Workers Compensation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve specific objectives
  • Knowledge of coaching disciplines and learning styles
