About the Role
This newly created role is for a Manufacturing Engineer passionate about Lean principles to join our growing team in Ballarat. You'll be key in driving our ambitious Lean manufacturing transformation program, working alongside a small team to build a world-class production system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Lean principles and tools on the shop floor to continuously improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Identify and solve manufacturing problems using a hands-on approach with a strong focus on root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement new manufacturing processes to support increased production volume.
- Conduct Kaizens to address specific production challenges and close KPI gaps.
- Utilise data analysis and visual management techniques to track progress and measure success of Lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth integration of Lean practices.
You are a great fit if you:
- Have an engineering degree (or equivalent) with a strong academic background.
- Possess experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a discrete manufacturing environment.
- Are passionate about Lean manufacturing and have hands-on experience implementing Lean principles.
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment and thrive on solving complex problems.
- Are a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a data-driven approach and can utilize visual management techniques for continuous improvement.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with robotic automation in manufacturing.
- Exposure to manufacturing capital projects involving new processes or equipment.
