Form of workThe Position
This position provides support to the Learning and Outreach Coordinator and contributes to the development of effective and engaging curriculum based education, outreach and public programs, workshops and educational materials to promote and engage the community in exhibitions and collections at the LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library.
Delivered in conjunction with the broad Learning and Outreach program, this role focuses on providing information and educational experiences that stimulate and broaden interest, enjoyment and understanding of museums and libraries within the context of life-long learning.

Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary Qualifications in Education, Museum or related discipline, or relevant experience
- Class C (standard) Drivers Licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
- Current Working With Children Check
- Demonstrated experience in the development and co-ordination of educational programs.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging young people in learning experiences through contemporary pedagogy.
- Develop, promote, deliver and evaluate engaging, student-centred and curriculum-based education experiences, workshops and tours for students and teachers within the context of LibraryMuseum facilities and the QEII Cultural Precinct.
- Provide advice on New South Wales and Australian Curriculum content and outcomes and best practice pedagogy to the Learning and Outreach team, Museum Team and Collection Development team to support the delivery of services and resources that support educational outcomes.
- Develop, promote, deliver and evaluate a range of innovative participatory programs to further the lifelong learning role of the LibraryMuseum to engage existing and new audiences, including school holiday and after school programs.
- Collaborate with the Museum Curatorial and Learning and Outreach Team to develop children’s exhibitions and museum outreach services that support curriculum learning outcomes.
- Coordinate secondary school bookings for programs and educational visits including the Write Around the Murray Festival school program and River of Stories writing competition.
Hours
Based on a 35 hour week, working across a 7-day spread, with actual days and times being worked in accordance with facility roster, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. Hours worked on weekends will attract the appropriate loadings.
