  • Full-time; 36.25 hours per week
  • Fixed term appointment to 31 December 2024
  • Based at the Cairns Nguma-Bada campus, Smithfield
  • Academic Level B: $103,238 - $121,815 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation.
WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE IN THE ROLE 
Created to provide a year of postgraduate academic and clinical work experience, this position offers a unique opportunity to work in a world-class facility in the beautiful North Queensland tropics. No two days will be the same with a balance of patient treatment, supervision of students and teaching which will enable you to develop a wide range of skills in both academia and as a practicing clinician. This role may also offer you an opportunity to complete further study and research activities. Not only will you be developing your own career, you will also be supporting JCU students to enhance their own learning outcomes, contributing to the profession of the future.WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 
  • A Bachelor of Dental Surgery qualification and full registration as a Dentist with the Dental Board of Australia
  • Familiarity with the operations of a teaching clinic including adherence to work, health and safety practice and procedure, and commitment to the patient-centred care approach to provision of dental services
  • Some experience in, and aptitude for, supervision of learners in both simulated and actual patient care situations
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships with team members in a multi-disciplinary teaching environment
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills with proven negotiation, consultation, and facilitation ability
  • Ability to work with limited direction and achieve results when facing competing priorities in a clinical and teaching environment
  • A current radiography licence with the State of Queensland, or eligibility to obtain
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
