Salary: Level B (Academic Specialist) – $119,231– $141,581 p.a. plus 17% super

About the Role 

The Lecturer – Collaborative Practice at the Collaborative Practice Centre will support the Centre's strategy through curriculum development, partnerships, and scholarship initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Collaborative Practice curriculum, develop engaging and interactive learning materials, and co-create educational workshops and short courses. The Centre has a mission to be a catalyst for Collaborative Practice in our health care system, equipping current and future teams for patient-centred care and improved health outcomes. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Supporting the development and implementation of the Collaborative Practice curriculum framework and its elements. 
  • Communicating and engaging with key stakeholders within MDHS in the development and implementation of the Collaborative Practice curriculum and its elements. 
  • Supporting the leadership team in the Collaborative Practice Centre in other duties and projects related to the advancement of Collaborative Practice
  • Use evidence gathered from needs analyses, literature reviews and other sources to inform the design of instructional materials and activities for Collaborative Practice

Who We Are Looking For 

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. They will demonstrate a strong knowledge and experience in higher education learning and teaching development, online learning resource development, and innovative educational initiatives, alongside high-level organisational skills to manage and deliver projects efficiently. 

You will also have: 

  • PhD in an area related to health professions education or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in learning and teaching development in a higher education setting. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders 
  • High-level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and ensure the timely delivery of projects.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

The Collaborative Practice Centre was established in 2023, and provides the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) and health partners with leadership, high level implementation and research into Collaborative Practice and learning in health and social care. The Centre builds upon previous work in interprofessional education and practice, with a commitment to building a ‘Collaborative Practice ready’ curriculum for students across the Faculty MDHS.
