The School of Environmental and Life Sciences is one of five Schools within the College of Engineering Science and Environment. As the largest School in the College, the School of Environmental and Life Sciences (SELS) offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The School maintains numerous internationally significant research activities with substantial numbers of higher degree research students, as well as excellent research facilities.

Primarily based at the University's Central Coast Campus (Ourimbah), this is a fantastic opportunity for a Lecturer with a strong background and research experience in nutrition and consumer science, food regulations and communication to join a collaborative team of academics. Working with a School who actively builds connections across other programs within the University, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with areas including Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Marine Science, Dietetics and Engineering.
How will you inspire us
Bringing a strong research track record in Food and Nutritional science and a clear vision for evolving a successful future research and innovation portfolio, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of research output that are collaborative and inter-disciplinary. You will also demonstrate educational leadership in teaching and learning at the course level and contribute through innovative teaching techniques.
The successful candidates will have:
  • Completed a doctoral qualification in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, Food Science, Consumer Science, or related fields. Evidence of research and research impact in these areas.
  • Demonstrated record of scientific publications or non-traditional research outputs.
  • Evidence of research collaborations and industry partnerships and demonstrated ability to attract research funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve recognition at a national level and develop an international profile in their discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise research students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of courses
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to outreach activities, organisational administration (including course coordination) and initiatives/activities within the University.
