About the Role
The overall purpose of the Lecturer (Public Health) position is to contribute to the teaching and research efforts within the Public Health discipline at Victoria University, to innovate and promote the scholarship of teaching and learning and research in Public Health. This will include making significant contributions to the teaching and learning responsibilities in the discipline, and through relevant administrative activities. The successful applicant will be required to teach into the undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the Public Health discipline at the University, to supervise Honours and higher degree by research students and may have limited supervisory responsibilities for sessional staff.
This is a full time continuing position at Academic B classification, with salary range of $101,598 - $120,647, plus 17% employee superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week.
An example of duties you may perform includes:
- Work with Public Health and relevant other staff to develop high quality materials to teach and convene units in undergraduate Health Science, and postgraduate studies within Public Health;
- Participate in administrative duties such as unit convening, unit development, attending discipline and college meetings and/or membership of university committees.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and workshops (as appropriate);
- Initiate, develop and conduct high quality research projects in collaboration with other research in the University; and
- Conduct and contribute to scholarly activities which further develop the teaching profile within the Public Health discipline.
The successful incumbent will be someone with energy who is innovative, progressive and collaborative in the way they work. They will be an excellent communicator who collaborates well with others across the College of Sport, Health, and Engineering, and the broader University.
