Our School has a long tradition of high achievement in teaching and research in audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology. As one of Australia's leading health and rehabilitation educators, the School is recognised internationally for its teaching and research staff, alumni and quality of students.In this role, you will have the opportunity to focus your efforts on growing your profile in teaching, research and service and engagement, as well as coordinating and leading the activities of other staff and contributing to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students. As a teaching and research academic at level B, you will aspire to achieve national recognition in your field of research.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilise best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.These are teaching & research positions. Further information can be found by viewing UQ’s .We have two full-time positions available, one permanent and one fixed-term for 4.5 years, at Academic level B.The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.The greater of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.About YouCompletion of a PhD in Physiotherapy.A growing profile in teaching and research in the areas of Neurological, Paediatric or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.Evidence of a high quality of teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:AHPRA registration: It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent holds and maintains (or demonstrates eligibility to do so) full AHPRA registration.Visa sponsorship may be available for this appointment subject to candidate eligibility.
