At Intrepid our legal department supports our business globally, and as our Legal Counsel, you'll report directly to our General Counsel, bringing your expertise to a thriving and growing business supporting Intrepid on its journey to change the way people see the world.
You'll frequently collaborate with a range of departments, teams, and leaders on a global scale, this is a true generalist role, giving you lots of opportunities to work across a diverse range of responsibilities such as general legal advice, reviewing and drafting contracts, mergers and acquisitions, legislative obligations and considerations, employment, consumer, competitive, IP employment, and privacy law. You will also assist in preparing legal reports, managing external counsel, and monitoring legal updates, all while continuing to upskill our people and improving internal awareness of compliance with legal processes and procedures.
This is a full-time permanent position based in our Melbourne Office on a hybrid basis and we will begin shortlisting for this position in mid January, closer to the close date of advertising.
Some of the experience we are looking for includes:
Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor equivalent
1-4 years' experience as a qualified lawyer, in either a law firm or an in-house role
Experience in general commercial and contracts law
Ability to define and implement comprehensive compliance programs in a complex organisation
Knowledge of standards, laws, and regulatory environment and the impact these have on the administration of an effective compliance program
Strong communication skills - You'll need to excel in summarising complex legislative concepts for great collaboration
