Positioned at the forefront of propelling the transition to cleaner and more reliable energy sources, our client is seeking a Senior Counsel with expertise in Renewable Energy, particularly focused on the APAC region.
With a global presence, they are expanding their team to include a skilled and dynamic legal professional to support their legal initiatives, specifically focusing on Construction and Development matters within the Renewable Energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Project Contract Negotiation:
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams for comprehensive review, drafting, and negotiation of Construction and Development contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Conducts detailed analysis of contractual risks, providing insightful advice to project stakeholders.
- Proposes effective mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's interests in various contractual arrangements.
- Regularly monitors and updates project teams on changes in contractual requirements and best practices.
- Keeps abreast of evolving laws and regulations in the APAC region related to Renewable Energy projects, construction, and Development.
- Develops and implements proactive compliance strategies to ensure all projects align with legal requirements.
- Conducts regular audits to verify compliance with regulatory standards and promptly addresses any identified issues.
- Provides training sessions to internal teams on legal and regulatory changes affecting the industry.
- Serves as the primary legal point of contact for dispute resolution related to Construction and Development matters.
- Analyses potential disputes, providing timely and well-reasoned legal advice for resolution.
- Collaborates with external Legal Counsel when necessary and represents the company's interests in dispute resolution proceedings.
- Develops and implements strategies to minimize the likelihood of disputes arising during project execution.
- Conducts comprehensive risk assessments for Construction and Development projects, identifying potential legal issues.
- Proposes and implements proactive risk mitigation strategies, collaborating with project teams.
- Advises senior management on risk management best practices and emerging industry trends.
- Regularly reviews and updates risk management protocols to align with evolving legal standards.
- Implements and maintains an efficient contract management system for Construction and Development agreements.
- Ensures timely renewal, termination, and amendment of contracts as necessary.
- Establishes and enforces standardized contract templates to streamline the contract creation process.
- Provides training to relevant stakeholders on effective contract management practices.
- Collaborates seamlessly with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance teams.
- Ensures legal compliance is maintained throughout all phases of project lifecycles.
- Provides ongoing legal support and training to project teams to enhance overall legal awareness.
- Facilitates regular communication channels between legal and project teams to address emerging legal issues promptly.
- Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and relevant legal qualifications.
- Proven experience in Renewable Energy, with a focus on Construction and Development matters in the APAC region.
- In-depth knowledge of APAC legal frameworks and regulations related to Renewable Energy projects.
