Hello, I am a 44-year-old woman who is a friendly and kind-hearted person. I live independently and I have a mild intellectual disability. My interests include art, music, dancing, shopping and making memories with my daughter. I am looking for a reliable disability Support Worker to support me (and my daughter) on fun community outings of a Saturday. The ideal candidate will proactively research to find events and activities in our local community. Shifts may also include the use of the worker’s vehicle for transportation.
Shifts:
- Saturdays 8am – 4:30pm
- Availability and flexibility to cover other shifts when needed
Saturday Pay Rate: $49 per hour
Please note: I have 2 weeks without support over Easter and again at Christmas, allowing you to spend time with your family. This leaves 24 Saturday shifts in the calendar year I require support.
Applicant Requirements
- Epilepsy Training - Basic understanding of Epilepsy (absence seizures) – will send successful applicant to Epilepsy QLD to undergo “Understanding Epilepsy Course”
- Must be reliable
- Great Communication (to liaise with other staff and carers for my daughter)
- Living within reasonable travelling distance (Ideally between Booval to Oxley / Durack Area)
- Yellow card / NDIS Disability Workers Screening (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children – Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- Current Clean Open licence, own insured vehicle with air conditioning
- Willing to use vehicle for work
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Current CPR and first aid (or willing to obtain)
- Basic home cooking skills to help me and my daughter on occasion
- Basic swimming skills
