About the role

As a Linehaul Operations Supervisor you are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Dimboola Drivers depot. In this role, you have overall operational leadership responsibility and accountability, including ensuring a safety focused culture, building and maintaining effective customer relationships, delivering on operational plans and managing a large linehaul team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide Leadership and direction to your team of locomotive drivers in the execution of their activities.
• Drive a culture aligned with Pacific National Values – Safety, Integrity, Accountability & Teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with operating standards and procedures in the day-to-day operations of rail haulage and terminal handling activities, including incident management and coordination.
• Ensure the appropriate training, assessment, reassessment, licensing and accreditation needs are in place for all employees, labour hire and contractors.
• Delivery of the planned line haulage services in full and on time.
• Maximise operational efficiency of personnel, equipment, facilities and train resources.
• Delivery of financial and operational targets.

About you

For this role we are looking for someone with experience as a people leader in a safety focussed industry and you are accustomed to working successfully within a dynamic and industrial environment.

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

• Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record of developing successful teams
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures and the ability to successfully identify and implement effective safety initiatives.
• Relevant experience in a safety orientated industry, for example rail / supply chain / transportation / aviation / warehousing or linehaul operations.
• Proven ability to foster positive, collaborative, customer centric and performance-oriented workplace cultures
• Strong conflict management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders internally and externally.
