The Role
Operating a mixed farm aggregation this family operation covers over 3,000Ha of prime country in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. The owners focus on fat lambs, merinos and broadacre cropping.

The properties carry approx. 18,000 sheep which incorporates a self-replacing merino and self-replacing Composite ewe flock.

To keep this boat moving forward this family enterprise is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join their team in the Harden/Boorowa region and come on-board (dependent on your experience) as a Livestock / Assistant Manager or Overseer.

Establishing yourself quickly as a reliable and communicative manager - the opportunity is for you to help the owners let you row the boat, and they can step back in the Day-2-Day operations.

You will be a highly motivated and self-reliant individual wanting the step-up to take the lead and the care of the livestock operations, plus be involved in the cropping and pasture enterprises as required (a cropping team is employed).

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the day-2-day livestock and cropping operations out of the owner’s responsibility.
  • Assist with farm operations including all aspects of sheep husbandry and record management.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Participate with the team in crop and hay production.
  • Mechanical, general repairs and maintenance to farm infrastructure, plant and equipment.
  • Management of staff and contactors.
Key Requirements
  • Cares for livestock and has min. 3-5 years sheep handling experience.
  • High level recording of livestock (e.g. AgriWebb).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Own working dogs (preferred).
  • Reliable and accountable with a willingness to learn.
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work unsupervised and show initiative.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Heavy Vehicle Drivers License (or willingness to obtain).
Remuneration and Location
  • Attractive above average $/h + overtime rates + 3 bed accom + work vehicle
  • The operations run across Harden and Boorowa and with house options on both properties.
