The Opportunity

Come and discover a career with us at Orrcon Steel at our Kewdale branch as a Load Planner. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands. 

In this diverse and challenging role, you’ll ensure that inbound products and outbound deliveries for our customers are tracked and scheduled correctly and efficiently, using existing systems and processes.  You’ll join a supportive and inclusive dispatch team where our customer service is a point of difference in the market and we are committed to safety and well-being of our staff.

Our busy and successful branch operates 24 hours a day, 5 days per week. This essential role will work 10:00am to 6:00pm, allowing great flexibility for family and lifestyle commitments. When you join our team we offer flexibility for work/life balance, access to our Employee Assistant Provider, annual flu vaccinations, and ongoing training and development.

What Will You Do?

In this hands-on and varied role where you will coordinate and manage transport and logistics functions so our products are delivered to our clients as promised. This requires high attention to detail, excellent administration skills, an ability to prioritise and a natural tendency to be a relationship builder.  This will see you:

• processing orders through our database system to ensure correct despatch of incoming and outgoing Orrcon Steel products
• working closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, sales and warehouse teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost effective delivery schedules for our customers
• providing exceptional customer service to BlueScope customers ensuring quick and professional turnaround times
• be responsible for the safety of yourself and your co-workers

More About You

As a motivated and dedicated individual looking for a challenging yet rewarding career in logistics and dispatch, you’ll enjoy being busy and working in a supportive team environment. You will bring:

• experience in a scheduling and planning in either a transport or manufacturing environment
• knowledge of, and confidence in using, ERP systems such as SAP
• proven ability in the use of MS Excel
• excellent administration skills and a high attention to detail
• a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others 
• Knowledge of chain of responsibility and load restraint is desirable, as the safety of our people and the public is essential a commitment to continuous improvement.
