Locum Psychiatrist SMO 09/02/2024 - 23/02/2024

A Locum Psychiatrist is sought for a rural medical campus in the Australian Outback of the state of Western Australia. This position is open to applicants who are at the level of PGY6 with minimum 3 year’s experience as a Registrar within Australia, AHPRA registration and the right to work in Australia.

The hospital has over 120 beds and provides 24/7 emergency services, general medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatric services supported by radiology and anaesthetic support.

In this position you will be expected to:

1. assess, diagnose and treat patients referred to the mental health services 
2. lead a team of mental health professionals
3. conduct daily ward rounds
4. take out patient clinics
5. supervise house officers and registrars
6. participate in an on call rota

Role RequirementsTo be successful in your application for this Locum Psychiatrist role,  we will be looking to identify the following in your curriculum vitae and recent history:

1. qualified physician at the level of PGY6 or above
2. a minimum of 3 years experience as a registrar in psychiatry in Australia or New Zealand
3. AHPRA registration (specialist or general)
4. the right to work in Australia

Remuneration

1. a daily rate of AUD$1700  
2. Flights – Up to $1500 return economy flights – approval in advance
3. Car – Fuel on receipt ONLY
4. Taxi Vouchers provided to and from hospital and Airport
5. Hotel accommodation is provided by site if on-site accommodation is not available.
6. Hire car is provided by site if fleet vehicle is not available
