Job description

  • Split caseload across Paediatric Mental Health and Adult Inpatients
  • 16 weeks locum to start ASAP
  • Accommodation and travel

New role with a large tertiary teaching hospital in gorgeous Tasmania. The role is full time and is to start ASAP for 16 weeks. The caseload will be split across: Paediatric Mental Health and Adult Inpatients. This is level 3 (senior) role.

The responsibilities of this position include part time cover for an inpatient service to children and young people admitted due to concerns with their mental health. The other part of the position would be to provide OT services to adult inpatients and recently discharged patients.

The role is full time, Monday – Friday. Accommodation and travel assistance are available. Remuneration is in line with the award + casual loading. $65-$70 per hour + super.

Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks or award-winning restaurants or bars. After a big day at work, you won’t need to battle any traffic. You might get on your bike or put on your walking shoes and head home through the tree-lined streets, past heritage buildings or quirky and quaint hideaways. You can decompress with a walk around the gorge, or put on your hiking boots and  tell it to the mountain.

You can explore the local landscapes in the early mornings and on weekends, or take painting classes, write novels, sell preserves at the weekly farmers’ market, or become a wine connoisseur. Some people take up roles in sport clubs, theatre or music groups, as volunteers, or serving on boards. Spouses and children thrive here in a safe and welcoming community with beautiful open spaces for adventure and play.

As an integral member of the close-knit multi-disciplinary teams, you will play a leading role in delivering contemporary, evidence-informed practice and high-quality patient experiences. You will be looked upon as a clinical mentor and leader by others and you will continually advance OT services through your innovation. The service will look after you from the very beginning, ensure you are fully inducted and welcomed into our world and set you up to thrive.

Working in regional Australia offers the chance to work within close knit communities. As part of smaller teams, you will access a wider range of patients and develop your clinical expertise. These roles offer great rates of pay, accommodation and the chance to broaden your skill set within a range of healthcare settings.
