Locum Sonographer

The position is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with two 10-minute tea breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.

The role involves performing ultrasounds with specific time allocations: 50 minutes for morphology, 30 minutes for gynaecology and musculoskeletal scans, 20 minutes for DVT, and 20 minutes for upper abdominal scans, amounting to approximately 16 patients per day. The community clinic requires a general sonographer with potential expertise in MSK and vascular imaging. The caseload comprises 20% obstetrics and 80% mixed general, MSK, and vascular scans.

ASAR registration is necessary, and dual qualifications or nuchal certification are not required. The clinic utilizes a GE E10 ultrasound machine, Promedicus Coral RIS, and Sonoreview for reporting. Sonographers manage their own lists in one of the two sites, where a radiologist is present. There is no weekend, shift, or on-call work, and student supervision is not required. While car hire or a company car is not available, parking is provided, and travel/accommodation allowances are applicable for locums. You may be required to work across two sites which are in close proximity.
