Job Summary
Locum Speech Pathologist required for busy community outreach practice based in Cairns with some travel to remote indigenous communities required. Accommodation and travel provided.
Salary details: $65 - $75 P/H + Superannuation, Accommodation and travel provided.

Our client extends access to Indigenous communities as far as Doomadgee and Thursday Island. the team of professional clinical practitioners is dedicated to creating personalised care plans that help individuals achieve their life goals and improving the health outcomes for all their patients, with a special focus on those in rural and remote areas with limited access to specialist care.
All about the role
Provide speech pathology services in our clients Cairns practice as well as individuals living in regional, rural, and remote communities who have limited or no access to Allied Health Services.
Develop and implement personalised care plans that support individuals in achieving their communication goals.
Work collaboratively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education and training on speech and language development, as well as strategies to promote functional communication.
Use a variety of technology-enabled models, including a small percentage of telehealth and virtual care, to ensure access to services, no matter where individuals live.
Provide culturally appropriate services to Indigenous communities across a vast area. Make a real difference in the indigenous communities’ quality of life. Embrace the indigenous culture whilst exploring the community.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of speech pathology, and use evidence-based practices to inform treatment plans.
The skills and experience I need for this job
Full SPA registration.
Experience working in a similar setting will be highly regarded.
Willingness to travel to remote indigenous communities.
Ability to work as a sole Speech Pathologist when required.
