This full-time, ongoing position offers a flexible start in Term 2. Primarily focused on teaching lower Primary students, this role welcomes new graduates, those with permission to teach, and experienced educators alike. - Delivering structured lessons to primary school students to develop their proficiency in Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
- Designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of primary school students.
- Promoting cultural awareness and understanding of the Deaf community and Auslan as a language through classroom activities and discussions.
- Managing and organizing instructional materials, resources, and technology necessary for effective Auslan instruction.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Auslan teaching methodologies and strategies.
- Must have Auslan certification
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration or be eligible to apply
- Demonstrate previous experience in Primary teaching/Auslan
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
