We run shift work on a 24 hour rotating roster.
We are currently seeking a Machine Operator (preferably with food industry experience) for our Packing and Production Teams who have both experience and skill in effective problem solving.
Our Machine Operators, like their team members, will need to understand the critical importance of quality, hygiene and food safety; strictly adhere to all regulations, policies and procedures and make sure we remind our team mates when they forget!

Your new role
As a Machine Operator you will be part of a team working under the supervision and guidance of the relevant Shift Manager and be responsible for contributing to the production and/or packing of yoghurt products in a timely manner and in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strictly follow all hygiene, quality, WHS and food safety regulations, SOPs, policies and procedures
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues within your skillset that might occur during the shift
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
- Work at different stations as production requires
- Inspect, weigh, and package products
- Monitor flow of product into processing machinery
- Verify compliance with quality, safety, production standards, work rules, and efficient operation of equipment
- Report potential production downtime, scrap production, and quality of each machine and summarise data from shift
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
What you need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator
- Desired experience in Food Manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
- Ability to strictly follow all regulations, SOPs, policies and procedures
- Ability to strictly adhere to Work, Health and Safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Proven ability to effectively problem-solve
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Good analytical skills
- Good attention to detail
- High level of self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to lift up 20 kilograms
- Ability to stand up to 4 hours at a time
- The ability to taste yoghurt and yoghurt products throughout production stage, this means no allergies to dairy or nuts
You will need to have work rights in Australia and provide 2 professional references of seniority.
