We are looking for a reliable and competent maintenance person to keep our freshly renovated hotel up to customer and management standards. We are looking for someone hands-on, loves to keep things organised, and carries out general handy work to a high quality. To do well in this role you will have previous experience in a trade(s) and general maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.
- Able to handle and carry items, fit and healthy for safe lifting and operating procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment as required in coordination with the cleaning and yard teams.
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and cleaning equipment
- Integrity, honesty, and high ethical standards
- Reliability and the ability to prioritise with good time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising on quality
- Good communication skills with the ability to listen carefully and ask the right questions to gain clarification
- Must be able to cooperate with a wide range of staff in a pleasant manner
- Proven maintenance and trade experience, skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues, as necessary
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
- Experience performing routine maintenance
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills with initiative and prioritisation that puts the customer and operational experience first, an eye for detail
- Professional presentation and attitude, ability to maintain focus while working independently.
- Trade experience, certificates, and licenses (desirable)
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a Maintenance person to inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance where/when required. This role is responsible for the upkeep of all hotel areas to ensure safety and curb appeal.
*Casual role from 10 to 30 hours per week based on what is required, part-time optional.
*Opportunity to increase hours in other departments for the right candidate.
*Availability over 7 days is ideal, the majority of work will need to be performed outside service periods and use of power tools at certain times due to accommodation guests.
- Maintaining a high level of customer care whilst performing duties
- This may include all areas both front and back of the house, storage areas, and surrounding carparks
- To perform duties such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, rubbish/litter collection, bottle collection, hosing down areas, and any other tasks as reasonably required to ensure the presentation of the venue both internally and areas surrounding the venue are maintained to the required standard.
- Cleaning and maintaining beer lines as per the cleaning schedule (as required)
- To assist in re-stocking or other such tasks when required
- The ability to operate a motor vehicle to assist the venue in the delivery of items or general portage duties
- Notify management of any maintenance or repair issues that need doing
- Always follow all hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment is maintained
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs and maintenance
- Overseeing contractors and small-scale projects when professional repairs are necessary
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
- Repairing machines, equipment, or structures, as necessary
