AddressTuggerah Lakes and Gosford Private Hospitals are seeking to employ a Permanent Part Time Maintenance Officer, based at Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital.
Tasked with maintaining plant & equipment, along with general maintenance duties, you will be maintaining an environment that delivers excellent clinical care for our patients.

For more than 41 years Gosford Private Hospital has played a pivotal role in providing quality care to the Central Coast community as the largest and most comprehensive private hospital in the region. With more than 148 inpatient beds, the hospital features 12 state-of-the-art operating theatres and two endoscopy suites and is also home to the Central Coast’s only private obstetric unit. We will also be opening Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital in June 2024, to provide further services and better access for all of our patients.
With two co-located major medical centres, a radiology practice and pathology laboratory, our complex offers a health precinct second to none.
Your new role at Tuggerah Private Hospital:
As an experienced Maintenance officer, your primary duties and responsibilities are:
- Ensure that all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are functioning optimally and safely to support patient care and hospital operations.
- Undertake a varied scope of ongoing reactive and programmed routine maintenance. The successful applicant will ensure compliance with prescribed standards in any maintenance performed.
- Maintain the cosmetic appearance of the building and infrastructure
- Sound organisation and prioritisation skills will be required for self-management of allocated daily tasks ensuring that all forms of maintenance records for the Hospital are fully maintained.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with members of the public and staff.
Preferred Requirements
- Trade background with experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, combined with mechanical aptitude is preferred, however previous proven experience in a similar work role will be considered.
- Ability to operate in a busy environment with minimal supervision
- Exceptional communication skills
- Sound computer skills
- Demonstrate pride and ownership of all work completed
- Understanding of HVAC and BMS systems
- Understanding of the key Australian Standards
- Experience with Fire and Emergency systems and equipment
Essential Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or willingness to obtain
- Immunisation evidence (including full COVID vaccination) and serology report or willingness to obtain
This will be a permanent part time position (0.8 FTE) for the right applicant. This role offers flexible hours.
Primary work location is Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital, with occasional shifts at Gosford Private Hospital.
