We are recruiting for a Fixed PlantMaintenance Specialist who will be responsible for Standardisation and Optimisation of Maintenance Practices, Maintenance Strategies, Engineering Standards and the overall performance of Fixed Plant Assets. Reporting to the Asset Care Lead for Quarries, this role is aimed at advancing Asset Management financial effectiveness and enabling Boral to achieve Safe, Compliant, Reliable and Optimised Assets (SCROA) with specific focus on critical Fixed Plant assets such as Crushers, Screens and Conveyor Belts.
This newly created role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Some travel will be required to site locations in order to engage with operational stakeholders and drive efficiencies and improvements.
Your day will involve:
- Reviewing asset utilisation and performance (e.g. hours, use, availability) to identify assets underutilised to support outcomes such as re-deployment, sale or working with site to improve utilisation.
- Drive the development, implementation, standardisation, and optimisation of preventative Maintenance program that are deployed in our CMMS Maximo, to ensure they enable achieving the right balance among risk, cost and performance.
- Drive the development, standardisation, and optimisation of Whole of Life Asset strategies including major repairs, rebuild, and asset life to ensure we optimise the asset portfolio and Repair and maintenance cost per tonne.
- Development of operational and engineering specification for critical Fixed Plant assets (e.g. Crushers, Screens and Conveyor belts) ensuring they are fit for purpose and deliver optimal cost per tonne.
- Develop partnership with critical OEMS for Fixed Plant equipment to ensure we manage all warranties, equipment issues, and improvement in a proactive and systemic manner.
- Review and analyse critical Fixed Plant assets Availability, Unplanned Downtime, and Plant OEE metrics to identify and implement Reliability improvements.
- Lead the implementation, review and analysis of Fixed Plant Repairs & Maintenance, Fuel and Energy (F&E), and Plant and Equipment Hire (P&E) cost metrics, including major spend areas such as contractor cost, spare cost, and services to drive cost efficiencies.
What are we looking for?
- Engineering degree or trade background preferred with significant maintenance and asset management experience in Fixed Plant assets such as Crushers, Screens and Conveyors.
- Commercial & technical experience in maintenance in heavy industry such as mining or heavy manufacturing.
- Deep experience and understanding on technical aspects (design, operation, maintenance, etc.), of Fixed Plant assets such as Crushers, Screens and Conveyors.
- Demonstrated experience performing analysis on plant performance issues and the identification of chronic and acute issues to trigger the need for reliability improvement project and improving Fixed Plant assets maintenance strategies using RCM on FMECA principles and processes.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and delivering outcomes at multiple levels within an organisation from senior leaders to frontline operators.
- Deep understanding of maintenance and asset management processes such as work management (e.g. planning and scheduling), maintenance strategies, maintenance KPIs and maintenance budgeting.
- Good understanding and experience using Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo.
