We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker / Maintenance Worker to join our team at an elderly care facilities and Council Facilities wqithin Murray Bridge SA
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the premises during regular working hours, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Additionally, the candidate will be required to attend to after-hours call outs from the council for building maintenance issues.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and general carpentry work.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the premises, including common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents, prioritizing urgent issues.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and reorder supplies as needed.
- Assist in the coordination of larger maintenance projects, including renovations or upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain safety standards throughout the facility, including fire safety equipment and emergency exits.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and materials used.
- Be available for after-hours call outs from the council to address building maintenance issues as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a high standard of care and service for residents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or elderly care setting.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, minor maintenance repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
