Join a dynamic team that helps UOW researchers achieve success in grant funding to undertake important research.  

The Research Services Office (RSO) is located within the Research and Sustainable Futures Division and supports university research staff to achieve excellence in research. We do this by assisting staff in applying for major research funding opportunities. 

An exciting opportunity exists to join the RSO as a Major Bid Writer, responsible for the development of high-quality proposals to enhance institutional performance in attracting major funding, both domestic and international. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing major funding proposals, including strategic advice to the bid team, writing and strategic review of proposals. 
  • Managing development and submission of high esteem fellowship proposals, including writing, review and editing of applications to professional submission standard. 
  • Building strategic working relationships with faculties to promote funding opportunities and facilitate submission of Major Bids from a broad range of funding sources. 
  • Analysing and reporting on funding data and trends to track performance and guide strategy.

About you:
To be successful in this role you will need a relevant degree and experience in a similar role; outstanding experience in writing, structuring and submitting complex Major Bids; strong editorial skills with attention to detail; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders to provide strategic and constructive advice.
