This role as Manager, Alumni Engagement is focused on Deakin's University Programs portfolio. This role is about building partnerships to advise on, and implement, sustainable Alumni Engagement programs and initiatives across Deakin University.
The Manager works closely with the Director, Alumni Engagement, the Manager, Alumni Engagement (Faculty Programs), and University leaders to lead strategies and initiatives which drive participation and support.

As the Manager, Alumni Engagement (University Programs), you will:
- In collaboration with the Director, Alumni Engagement and University partners, lead and deliver macro engagement programming or cohort level programming including digital engagement, communications, and events with a focus on return on investment
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with Deakin's global alumni community of over 300,000 graduates
- Deliver Alumni Engagement programming in collaboration with external stakeholders such as local governments, professional organisations, and strategic partners of Deakin University
- Promote teamwork and provide tailored coaching to enable individuals to deliver high-quality solutions and to achieve the University's goals
- Analyse problems, weigh up a range of options to identify accessible and inclusive solutions and translate complex issues into clear and understandable goals and targets for Deakin
- Develop, maintain and use a variety of systems, processes, diverse range of people and sources to gather information to gain a deeper understanding and make critical strategic decisions
- Use accepted theory and practices to develop and deploy continuous improvement actions to ensure implementation of continuous improvement strategies in own work area
- Develop a network of useful contacts within Deakin and integrate perspectives held within different areas of the University, and puts plans in place to build collaboration and develop shared goals
- Use understanding of the client context to anticipate needs, tailor services, improve the service offering and ensure a high-quality outcome by addressing client feedback and setting service standards
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise in alumni relations, volunteer programming, or engagement programming; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
- Experience in managing programs of work including digital engagement projects and events
- A proven background as a collaborative employee in a high performing team
