About the Role

An exciting leadership role responsible for a team of service providers embedded in the six Colleges and key University sites.

The Manager, College Space Project Coordinators will be responsible for leading a customer service focused team responsible for providing a range of space and accommodation services and coordinating minor works projects. The Manager leads by example, providing exceptional service to professional staff groups in Flinders' Portfolio units.

You will provide responsive, consistent and proactive leadership to your team. You will also work effectively to build strong relationships with University staff, students, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

As a member of the Capital Development team you will also have exposure to a varied mix of projects, including essential infrastructure upgrades and construction of new and refurbished labs, teaching spaces, offices and student spaces.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead and manage the team, including supervision and performance development, workload resourcing, mentoring and providing recommendations and support in relation to complex matters.
  • Developing and managing relationships with key college and portfolio staff and accommodation users to ensure the service provided meets their needs.
  • Working effectively across the division to develop, implement and continually improve procedures and guidelines that comply with University policy, in the context of the University ethos, academic integrity, social responsibility and brand.

About You

We are seeking a Manager with proven experience in the day-to-day leadership of operational administration, projects or facilities management. You will have demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve high quality customer service outcomes and results.

The right person for this role will be an effective communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills who builds productive and collaborative relationships and can identify needs and priorities of stakeholders. You will be capable of exercising judgment, problem solving and using initiative to achieve results.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role are:

  • High level organisational skills including demonstrated ability to operate within a flexible work environment, to work independently and proactively within broad guidelines, prioritise concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Significant to high level ability in the development and implementation of strategies that promote the priorities of an organisation.
  • A tertiary qualification with significant subsequent relevant experience in administrative management, project management, facility management, and/or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.

About Property, Facilities and Development

This role is part of the Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team at Flinders. Our team works across all of Flinders' places, spaces, and physical infrastructure. We work across four key areas: Strategic Planning and Sustainability; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; and Strategic Projects. The team are responsible for the planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of all University spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose and support Flinders to deliver its strategic objectives.
