Do you want to have a real impact on student experience? Do you have experience with Agile leadership and managing development teams? Then this may be the perfect role for you!
  
This unique leadership position will see you responsible for the continual delivery and improvement of online services to Curtin students. You will Inspire, lead, and guide a well-established agile team of developers and User Experience analysts throughout all phases of the development lifecycle, including project discovery, user research, design, development, testing and execution. You will be responsible for the OASIS student portal, which has more than 17 million logins per year from students across the globe! 
  
Play an active and integral role in creating a positive experience for our Curtin community. This position is fast-paced, which will allow you to see the tangible outcomes and impact of your work on a daily basis. 
  
The ideal candidate must have experience working with development teams, ideally in an agile environment, and experience in Scrum Master or Product Owner roles. You will also have experience in User Experience concepts and methods. You will be innovative, and inspiring team leader, and an effective communicator.  To be successful in this role you will have a combination of strong communication, technical, analytical, relationship management and organisational skills.
  
In this role, you will:
  • Streamline student access to services and opportunities, foster connection through digital channels, and improve student engagement.
  • Work with the Deputy Director, Student Engagement and Experience to create, maintain and execute the team’s roadmap and pipeline of work.
  • Facilitate product discovery activities and coordinate internal subject matter experts.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of Scrum process, supporting a cohesive and collaborative team that prides itself on development efficiency.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with relevant staff within other areas of the University, including senior stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership in the design, development, testing and implementation of online applications, whilst also providing digital expertise to other areas of the University.
  • Be responsible for the management of all Tier 2 student OASIS (and associated services) support requests.
  • Develop and manage an effective and efficient team approach to the function to deliver a high quality customer service that ensures clients are provided with correct, consistent and timely advice.
We are looking for (the ideal candidate):
  • Postgraduate or degree qualified within a related discipline with extensive relevant work experience in leading a team.
  • Experience in a scrum master/and or product owner position
  • Proven Agile and product ownership capabilities and experience in other project management methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with all phases of the delivery lifecycle including business engagement, release planning, backlog management, test driven development, training & support.
  • Extensive experience in conducting and integrating user research into the development cycle and incorporating human centric designs in user requirements.
  • Strong team leadership and management skills with the ability to create and maintain a cohesive, collaborative and safe culture.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to offer solutions to problems.
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. Only in limited situations will visa sponsorship situations be considered.
