Click here:Working with Wagga Wagga City Council - Why work in Wagga?The Manager Engineering Design Services is responsible for leading the Engineering Design Services Division in the development of whole of life design, design quality control and assurance, accommodating environmental and cultural assessments, and consultation within the Council and with stakeholders.The ideal applicants will bring to this position demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams across multiple, high-risk worksites with the ability to effectively lead an agenda of cultural change. Other key responsibilities will include:Oversee all functional areas of the Division, including the development and maintenance of divisional budgets.Link the review of asset condition and other data capture and management with design standards to improve current and future asset whole of life costs and Council's financial sustainability.Provide strategic leadership in line with contemporary and environmentally sustainable design techniques and practices.Leading, mentoring and coaching the Engineering Design Services Team in order to deliver high quality outcomes and services to the community and to ensure an integrated and collaborative workforce.Ensuring a proactive Work Health & Safety culture is adopted across the division.What we will offer:An attractive remuneration in accordance with skills and experience.Access to Council's Flexible Working Hours Agreement.Training and development opportunities.The opportunity to further develop your career with a large regional Council with enviable and diverse projects already in motion or coming online.What you will need to succeed: We are looking for experienced professionals with:Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil Engineering;Professional Engineer's Registration or eligibility to obtain registration;A project management certification is highly desirable;Strong understanding of civil Engineering Design principles and operational experience relevant to road pavements and general earthen structures, sewer and stormwater, wastewater treatments plants, waste disposal facilities and urban subdivisions; andExtensive leadership experience including the ability to effectively manage staff performance and to develop and maintain a positive workplace culture.
